1 / Safeguarding Policy

The safety and wellbeing of all students are our top priority.

• All lessons are conducted in a professional and secure environment.

• For online lessons, a parent or guardian is welcome to sit in or monitor the session.

• Any inappropriate behavior or concerns raised during lessons will be addressed immediately, with parents or guardians informed as necessary.

• We comply with Scottish child protection guidelines to ensure students’ safety at all times.

2 / Payment Policy

To ensure clarity and a smooth booking process:
 

• Payments must be made in advance of lessons via bank transfer another agreed method.

• Lessons are charged at:

  • £20/hour Flat rate for all school-aid tutoring

  • £22/hour for Home-school based lessons (Includes lesson planning and post brief chats with parents/carers)

• Packages for multiple lessons may be available at a discounted rate; please contact us for details.

3 / Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson:

• 24 hours’ notice is required to avoid being charged for the session.

• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the half the amount of lesson and no notice no attendance will occur the full cost 

• We will always try to offer an alternative session if you miss/ can't make the planned session

4 / Attendance and Punctuality Policy

• Students are expected to attend lessons on time to make the most of their booked session.

• If a student is more than 10 minutes late without notice, the lesson will be canceled, and the full fee will still apply.

• If the tutor needs to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, clients will be notified as soon as possible, and a replacement lesson will be offered.

5 / Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy.

• Personal information such as names, contact details, and payment information will only be used for lesson-related communication and administration.

• Your details will never be shared with third parties.

• All online lessons are conducted on secure platforms to protect student data and privacy.

6 / Code of Conduct

We strive to create a respectful and positive learning environment.

• Students should come to lessons prepared and ready to engage.

• Respectful behavior is expected from both students and tutors at all times.

• Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in the termination of lessons.

7 / Equal Opportunities Policy

Ian Stewart Maths Tutoring is committed to providing equal access to education for all students.

• We welcome students of all abilities, backgrounds, and learning needs.

• If your child has specific requirements, please let us know in advance so we can adapt our lessons accordingly.

8 / Waiting List Policy

Due to high demand, we may not always have immediate availability.

• If no suitable time slots are available, you can request to be added to our waiting list.

• We will contact you as soon as a slot becomes available that fits your schedule.

9 / Refund Policy

• Refunds are not offered for completed lessons.

• For prepaid lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice, a credit for future sessions will be provided.
